The Windows Application / Systems Administrator will be responsible for the administration of and maintenance of Windows and Linux systems along with supporting infrastructure.
Manage Linux, Windows systems environment along with supporting infrastructure.
Perform administration tasks with VMWare, Windows Servers, SQL server, IIS, FTP and other related technologies.
Provide planning, coordination, and implementation of server installations, upgrades, routine maintenance and vendor supplied patches in accordance with established Information Technology (IT) policies and procedures.
Update and manage work using the Atlassian JIRA ticketing system.
Coordinate and collaborate with other functional areas within IT to ensure availability, reliability and scalability of systems/servers to meet business requirements.
Provide off hours support through the use of a rotating on call procedure.
Develop and document technical processes and procedures in team knowledge base.
Storage capacity planning, tracking and reporting.
All other duties assigned by the Director of SaaS Operations.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as technical engineer for IT systems within a demanding, 7x24, business critical IT environment.
Experience with a technical application platform environment that includes VMware, Active Directory, Windows Servers, Linux servers, SAN, NAS, Cloud services, and data centers.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with emphasis on technical, computer related subject matter including systems administration policies and procedures.
Ability to balance the demands of multiple constituencies, define priorities, and set appropriate expectations as well as strong organizational qualities in all aspects of work.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a hands-on capacity with the following:
Microsoft (including Active Directory) server operating systems
Basic Linux OS experience
Backup and recovery administration and strategy.
Experience with SQL Server
Basic understanding of Networking technology experience including load balancers.
Internet technologies including HTTP, SSL, LDAP, SMTP, FTP, SFTP and DNS.
Sizing, installation, configuration, tuning, and monitoring of storage area networks (SANs), either fiber channel or iSCSI.
