Windows System Engineer

The Windows Application / Systems Administrator will be responsible for the administration of and maintenance of Windows and Linux systems along with supporting infrastructure.  


  • Manage Linux, Windows systems environment along with supporting infrastructure. 
  • Perform administration tasks with VMWare, Windows Servers, SQL server, IIS, FTP and other related technologies.
  • Provide planning, coordination, and implementation of server installations, upgrades, routine maintenance and vendor supplied patches in accordance with established Information Technology (IT) policies and procedures.
  • Update and manage work using the Atlassian JIRA ticketing system.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other functional areas within IT to ensure availability, reliability and scalability of systems/servers to meet business requirements.
  • Provide off hours support through the use of a rotating on call procedure.
  • Develop and document technical processes and procedures in team knowledge base.
  • Storage capacity planning, tracking and reporting.
  • All other duties assigned by the Director of SaaS Operations.


  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as technical engineer for IT systems within a demanding, 7x24, business critical IT environment.  
  • Experience with a technical application platform environment that includes VMware, Active Directory, Windows Servers, Linux servers, SAN, NAS, Cloud services, and data centers. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with emphasis on technical, computer related subject matter including systems administration policies and procedures.
  • Ability to balance the demands of multiple constituencies, define priorities, and set appropriate expectations as well as strong organizational qualities in all aspects of work.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a hands-on capacity with the following:
    •  Microsoft (including Active Directory) server operating systems
    • Basic Linux OS experience
    • Backup and recovery administration and strategy.
    • Experience with SQL Server
    • Basic understanding of Networking technology experience including load balancers. 
    • Internet technologies including HTTP, SSL, LDAP, SMTP, FTP, SFTP and DNS.
    • Sizing, installation, configuration, tuning, and monitoring of storage area networks (SANs), either fiber channel or iSCSI.
